The biomass acreage forecasting problem
Recent expansion of biomass acreage is used to predict acreages in coming years for various European countries. Available data is partly used to train forecasting models, and partly used to test these models. Models should be flexible in order to deal with country differences, nonlinear evolution of acreages, and include relevant drivers such as prices and policies.

Huge differences among countries in size of and trends in acreages. Developments in acreages are also quite nonlinear.
